This post is from me, Elder Arroyo's mom. I want to thank everyone that has followed Elder C. Arroyo these past two years on his mission in Belem, Para, Brazil. I watched through his emails that I shared on this blog a testimony grow in his heart while he taught, made friends, endured hard ships and put all his faith in the Lord's work.

Over the last 3 1/2 years I followed tow grandsons while they served their missions..It has been an awesome experience to read posts from them and see changes as they moved on from teenhood to men. It was a thrill to see these handsome good hearted grandsons get off the plane and allowed us to bombard them with hugs cameras!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations for the excellent job you did while in Belém Mission. I remember seeing you when I went to Outerio Branch. Congratulations also for your honorable return home. I just like to suggest that you replace the cover photo of your blog, because I'm sure you did not work throughout his mission in areas like this that appears there. The city of Belém, as well as all Pará State, has many beautiful places to see, even in areas where you worked. I also believe that you should have made other great photos of our state, that best visually represent our region. Who does not know the Para and see your photo, may think you passed the entire mission walking on wooden bridges over the mud, and that our state is only poverty and misery, which does not correspond with reality. Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho que você fez enquanto esteve na Missão Belém. Lembro de tê-lo visto nas vezes em que fui ao Ramo Outeiro. Parabéns também pelo seu honroso retorno para casa. Eu apenas gostaria de sugerir que você substituísse a foto da capa do seu blog, pois tenho certeza que você não trabalhou durante toda sua missão em áreas como essa que lá aparece. A cidade de Belém, assim como todo os Estado do Pará tem muitos lugares bonitos de se ver, mesmo nas áreas onde você passou. Acredito também que você deve ter feito outras ótimas fotos de nosso Estado, que melhor representam visualmente nossa região. Quem não conhece o Pará e vê sua foto, pode pensar que você passou a missão inteira andando sobre pontes de madeira sobre a lama, e que nosso Estado é só pobreza e miséria, o que não corresponde com a realidade.
